Learner Driver Tuition

Whether you have previous experience or for those for whom this is their very first experience of sitting behind the wheel, I will guide through the process of learning to drive to a successful driving test pass and on to help in gaining further experience and skills.

Pass Plus

Pass Plus is an established training course aimed at new drivers. It was designed by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) with the help of insurers and the driving instruction industry.

Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years after passing their test, due to their lack of driving experience.

Pass Plus builds on your skills and knowledge. It will teach you how to anticipate, plan for and deal with all kinds of hazards, to help you become a more confident driver. The course consists of a minimum of 6 hours tuition and covers the following subjects:

• Town driving
• Rural/Out of town roads
• Adverse weather
• Night time driving
• Dual carriageways
• Motorway driving

You can take a Pass Plus course at any time. However, it’s mainly aimed at new drivers in the first year after passing their test.

Motorway Driving

If Pass plus is not for you then it is still a very good idea to have a Motorway lesson once you have passed your test. Mile for mile motorways are the safest in this country but they are also the only road type/layout that cannot be used during your driving lesson until you have passed. Gaining guidance and experience in using Motorways will make you much safer and more confident.
